At the time I was teaching high school and my students wanted to create Christmas cards for Sailors out at Sea. So I called the right people to find out how to do that and they gave me Alan's name as a contact. We started exchanging emails professionally and soon that changed to friendship. We didn't meet till four months later and it was love at first sight!
